Roughly forty converted vessels — barges, tugs, ex-Navy craft — line the Adur's south bank, some cottage-like, one famously shark-shaped. Britain's oddest street of addresses, and reachable kerb space varies boat by boat.

Shoreham Beach began as railway carriages towed over at low tide in the 1890s and grew into a film-colony of a suburb. Today's rebuilt homes still sit on that spit — one road in, the footbridge for pedestrians.

How much is a man with a van in Shoreham?
The standard table: £22/£33/£44 an hour on the medium van with one, two or three of us, £28/£39/£55 on the large. Shoreham sits about fifteen minutes from base, so the drive barely moves the total — and the written quote fixes it first.
Can you move things to or from a houseboat?
We'll quote the landside honestly: van to the bank, then the carry. Gangplanks, tides and what the vessel can take are conversations to have when booking — we'd rather plan it than improvise it.
Do you cover Shoreham Beach?
Yes — by road via the loop (the footbridge is for pedestrians), with the one-road-in geography planned into timing. The Beach's houses replaced the old carriage-bungalows, but the spit's logistics haven't changed much.
Are you based in Shoreham?
Brighton — six or seven miles east along the A259, roughly fifteen minutes. We say it plainly because the run is short enough to make 'local' a fair description without inventing a depot.
